Learn the fundamentals of Access as you work with tables, queries, reports, forms and macros. Build your own personal contact management system in class, beginning with table creation, look up wizards and data value intelligence, then create command buttons and menus. Fieldwork is assigned to ensure you master the material. Learn to build relational databases and avoid potential pitfalls of using Access.
Prerequisite: Some experience with Windows

After this class, you will be able to
- Create your own relational database from scratch
- Design tables for storing data and fine-tune tables by creating fields to store text, numbers, and other data types
- Relate tables using referential integrity to build an effective data structure
- Import and export data from Access in various formats, such as Text, Excel, and XML
- Create queries to extract, sort, and filter data from your relational database
- Design forms for easy data entry and editing
- Design reports to prepare your data for printing
- Use macros to automate processes such as closing the database or opening a form
