Grant Writing Workshop: A Hands-On Seminar

The basis for successful grant writing is a carefully designed program. In this intensive workshop, we will examine the relationship among organizational mission statement, needs assessments, goals, objectives, work plans, and evaluations. We will also discuss writing techniques to help make your grant-writing process smarter and faster. Initially, the instructor will present valuable content information; then while you work on your own project, he will provide consultation and support to help you refine your proposal. Finally, we will establish a formal peer review of the abstracts with a common scoring process. You will experience the proposal review process from both sides of the table-reviewer and reviewed-further enhancing your insight into successful grant writing. Prerequisite: Participants should have taken an introductory grant-writing course or have some previous grant-writing experience. Students must bring their own laptops and a USB stick. The course will cover: *common organizational problems *needs assessment *goals and objectives *evaluation *grant abstracts *writing and proofreading techniques If you are currently developing a grant, bring it with you to work on. If you don't have a current project, the instructor will provide practice material. Participants should have taken an introductory grant-writing course or have some previous grant-writing experience. Emory Grant Writing Certificate Program

This module is designed to enhance your grant writing ability and allows you to complete your grant writing certificate. It is held completely online and allows you to work at your own pace within an allotted time period while completing assignment(s) that will be critiqued by the instructor. The course is held for a total of ten hours in which you will be required to complete eight hours of coursework and you will have a two hour question and answer session with the instructor.
