Italian Art
Evening at Emory - Fine Arts
Italy is one of the few places where you can see so much of the evolution of Western Art still embodied within one country. Explore Italy’s fascinating art history, including ancient Etruscan and Roman artifacts, the medieval and early Christian art in Rome, and masterpieces of the high renaissance art in Florence. This class will also touch upon Italian Baroque art and more modern Italian Art through exposure to famous museum collections in Florence, Rome, and Venice. We will view slides of architecture and sculptures, as well as beautiful oil paintings and frescos. Class includes a visit to the High Museum, ticket price not included.
